NIWE Re-tenders for 1 MW Solar Plant at Madurai Kamaraj University By Ayush Verma/ Updated On Mon, Aug 31st, 2020 NIWE has issued the tender for commissioning of a 1 MW solar power plant at the Madurai Kamaraj University in Tamil Nadu, for a second time. The National Institute for Wind Energy (NIWE) has issued a tender, inviting EPC contractors in India to submit bids for undertaking the task of commissioning of a 1 MW solar energy power plant at the Madurai Kamaraj University in Tamil Nadu. This is the second time NIWE has issued a tender for the project. In June, it had issued a similar tender with a deadline of June 29, 2020. The scope of work for the successful bidder will include the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, grid synchronisation of the monocrystalline solar PV plant. The contractors will also be required to provide 5 years of comprehensive AMC, warranty, insurance and operations and maintenance (O&M), from the date of commissioning (i.e. power evacuation to Substation) of the solar plant along with power evacuation system to the nearest available substation. As per the tender documents, the Insurance has to be arranged by the successful bidder for the 1MW (AC) solar PV power plant against Fire, Burglary, Theft, and natural calamities, riots, strike or any such other scenario not explained here but form part of a comprehensive Insurance Package from the date of commencement of the work and for the entire project period of 5 years, under no liability to NIWE. To be eligible for participating in the bidding process, the bidder as an EPC should have successfully installed and commissioned grid-connected solar PV power plants aggregating 20 MW (AC) or more capacity in India during the last five years from the date of announcement of the tender, along with all required associated, allied, auxiliary equipment complete in all respect as single point responsibility so as to generate and export power to the utility grid which shall be in successful commercial operation for the last one year. And the bidder should have executed O&M activities of at least one single ground-mounted grid-connected PV power plant of 1 MW (AC) for the last one year. Furthermore, the minimum average annual turnover of the bidder in the last three financial years (i.e. FY2016-2017, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019) should be Rs 1.5 crore. The last date for bid submission is September 17, 2020, and the tenders will be opened on September 18, 2020. All bidders must also submit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 13 lakh along with their bids. However, contractors registered with National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) such as MSMEs registered for supply /service related to this tender will be eligible for exemption from payment of EMD for the contract up to the monetary limit for which the unit is registered with NSIC.
