NISE Postpones Next Advanced Solar Training Prog amid Covid-19 Pandemic

The MNRE-backed National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) has postponed its six months advanced solar professionals course due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The order has been issued by Dr A.K. Tripathi, Director General, NISE, stating that “six months advanced solar professionals course (batch 4), which was scheduled to be started from April 07, 2020, has been postponed till further notice due to COVID-19 pandemic.”

However, the interested candidates can continue to apply for this course, he added.

On new dates, Dr Tripathi stated that these will be informed soon once the situation gets normalized.

The third batch of NISE’s 6 months advanced solar professionals course was started in August last year and completed in February this year.

NISE Postpones Next Advanced Solar Training Prog

This six months course has been designed by NISE for technical, non-technical and business persons who are interested in the solar sector.

The motive of the program is to provide better understanding and hands-on-practice in different streams of solar energy including solar photovoltaic (PV) technologies, applications in the form of on-grid and off-grid systems, solar water pumping system, solar thermal technologies, applications of solar thermal technologies, solar resource assessment, business entrepreneurship.

Post-training completion, the participants will get a certificate from NISE. This will help candidates in exploring career possibilities in areas such as – entrepreneurship, site engineer related to solar energy, project engineer, solar power plant designer, installer, O&M, EPC and trainer.

The eligibility criterion of the program is diploma in electrical, electronics and mechanical plus experience (>= 5 Years); B.Tech/ BE or it’s equivalent in any branch of Engineering; MTech, PhD and other; BSc (Phy/Electronics), MSc (Phy/Electronics); other graduate and post-graduate degrees; solar entrepreneurs; public sector undertaking officials; EPC contractors; MNRE channel partners; and Senior Energy Department Officials of Govt. of India and officers from State Nodal Agencies etc.
