NHPC Tenders for 100 MW Solar Plant in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh

NHPC has issued a tender for the EPC contract for the development of a 100 MW solar plant in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh.

NHPC Limited has issued a tender for the EPC contract for the development of a 100 MW solar PV grid-connected power plant along with associated power evacuation equipment across multiple villages in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh.

As per the tender, the selected developer(s) will have a period of 12 months from the date of issue of Notification of Award to commission the solar PV power project along with the power evacuation equipment at the Sherwa, Chak Lathiya and Jafarkhani villages in Mirzapur. Beyond the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) work, the developers will have to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the plant for a period of five years from the date of commissioning of the project.

The last date for bid submission is May 5, 2021, and the technical bids will be opened on May 12, 2021. The date and time of opening of the price bids and then the e-reverse auction will be intimated later to the bidders whose techno-commercial bids will be found responsive. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for April 7, 2021, to address the concerns raised by the prospective bidders.

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process, the bidder should have designed, supplied, erected/ supervised erection and commissioned/ supervised commissioning of Solar Photo Voltaic (SPV) based grid-connected power plant(s) of cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW or higher, out of which at least one plant should have been of 10 MW or higher capacity. The reference plant of 10 MW or higher capacity must have been in successful operation for at least six months prior to the last date of submission of a bid.

Financially, the average annual turnover of the bidder should not be less than Rs 589.50 crore during the preceding three financial years prior to the last date of submission of the bid. And, the Net Worth of the Bidder as on the last day of the preceding financial year should not be less than 100 percent of its paid-up share capital.

In January, the firm had issued a tender for the EPC contract for the development of a 100 MW ISTS-connected ground-mounted solar PV project at the Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park (UMREPP) in Koppal District of Karnataka.

A few days later, the firm had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), seeking its technical expertise in developing renewable energy projects. Under the MoU, IREDA will undertake Techno-Financial due diligence of Renewable energy and Energy Efficiency & conservation projects for NHPC. IREDA is also assisting NHPC in developing an action plan to create and acquire Renewable Energy projects for the next 5 years.
