NHPC Inaugurates Herbal Park – Developed to Make Staff Aware of Herbs By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Sat, Jun 6th, 2020 On the occasion of World Environment Day 2020, Central Public Sector Undertaking (Central PSU) NHPC inaugurated the ‘Herbal Park’ at its Office Complex. The motive behind the development of this Herbal Park was to create awareness amongst all the staff members of the company towards the medicinal importance of plants and herbs. This year’s theme is ‘Biodiversity’. Further, this Herbal Park was inaugurated by A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC, and during the occasion Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel), M.K. Mittal, Director (Finance), Y.K. Chaubey, Director (Technical) and A.K. Srivastava, CVO were also present. This inauguration was part of the celebration activities at the NHPC office and during these celebrations, a variety of herbal plants were also planted by CMD, Directors and CVO of the company. In order to mark the occasion, state-run power giant has also distributed around 700 medicinal plants and trees among its staff members in order to encourage them for the cause of environment and inculcate the sense of environmental conservation within themselves. Apart from NHPC Corporate Office and Residential Complex at Faridabad, large scale plantation drives were also undertaken across all NHPC regional offices, projects and power stations. The company said that it has ensured all the social distancing norms during these celebrations. Meanwhile, during this Covid-19 Era, many companies are taking steps to help and train their employees, and even their families, through multiple ways in order to tackle these testing times of lockdown in a positive way. Recently, another CPSU NTPC said that it has offered learning opportunities to its more than 19,000 employees and their family members amidst the lockdown period. Besides, it has also collaborated with some external organisations like World Bank, ‘Art of Living’ to offer its employees an opportunity for learning online technical courses, attending virtual classes, holistic wellness programme to help employees and their family members by staying strong and focused during these turbulent times.
