NHPC NHPC on behalf of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (A Joint Venture of NHPC Ltd. and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency i.e. UPNEDA) issued a tender, to build a solar park project. It includes the construction of security buildings and civil Works of a solar power park to develop a 1.2 GW Solar Park under UMPPRE at Madhogarh, District: Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh. It has sought bids till 10th March, 03. 2025. While sharing the qualifications of the bidder, the NHPC tender mentioned, “In the case where the distribution of Consortium/JV members is not specified in Consortium/JV agreement then the experience credential shall be considered for all members of JV with minimum 35% participation share. The tender added that the bid is valid for 120 Days. About The Project It is proposed that one or more blocks of land identified in the solar park will be allocated to different project developers to have a concentrated zone for solar development. Approx. 6049.6 acres of the land are to be procured on a long-term lease basis by BSUL from the revenue land department and various Private land owners in the Jalaun district of the State of Uttar Pradesh. Sharing about the project, the tender said, “The 1200MW Jalaun Solar Park project shall be executed in Two phases of each 600 MW. This specification is intended to provide the requirements of common infrastructure development.” UP has been focusing on select districts including Jalaun for large solar parks to meet state renewable goals as well as bring much needed industry and jobs to these districts. These districts have relatively less fertile land and irrigation facilities, making solar a viable option in many cases. land acquisition remains a key challenge in the state, hence the support to developers from the developers in this case.
