Shree Cement joins RE100 With Commitment to transition To 100% Renewable Electricity by 2050

Shree Cement, one of India’s largest cement producers with an installed capacity of over 56 MTPA, proudly announces its membership in the esteemed RE100 initiative, a global initiative led by Climate Group, advocating for businesses to convert to 100 percent renewable electricity for all their operations. This commitment underscores Shree’s dedication to accelerate the global transition to 100% renewable electricity consumption among influential businesses.

The firm claims that its power generation capacity from waste heat recovery-based plants ranked among the highest in the global cement industry. It is currently sustaining green power consumption at over 55%, the highest in the Indian cement industry. It has Invested Rs. 1050 Cr in 236 MW solar & wind power plants installations. Further investment of Rs. 700 crores planned in FY25 for installing 148 MW plants in 5 states.

Godawari Electric Motors Extends Battery Warranty for its Electric 2-Wheelers and 3-Wheelers product range

Godawari Electric Motors has announced a significant increase in the battery warranty for its eblu range of electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers. Effective from 25th April 2024, the warranty for batteries in Godawari Electric Motors’ EV two-wheeler eblu Feo range has been extended to 5 years or 50,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. Similarly, the battery warranty for the company’s EV three-wheeler range which includes eblu Rozee and eblu Reino now stands at 5 years or 80,000 kilometers, whichever comes earlier. The company claims that these new warranty periods are among the most comprehensive in the Indian electric vehicle market.

Azerbaijan’s first solar auction launched,100MW solar project offered

Central Asia’s Azerbaijan has announced its first solar auction inviting private firms to support the design, finance, operation and maintenance of a 100MW project. Applicants can request eligibility documents from the Ministry of Energy from 30 April, and will need to supply completed proposals by 14 June. The ministry expects to make its decision on the first phase of awarding the tender on 12 July.

US Announces New Transmission Rule To Modernized Electric Grid

The Biden-Harris Administration recently announced a final transmission permitting reform rule and a new commitment for up to $331 million. These reforms are aimed to add more than 2,000 megawatts (MW) of additional grid capacity throughout the Western United States. This is an equivalent to powering 2.5 million homes and creating more than 300 new, high quality and union construction jobs. By improving federal transmission, it permuted the processing and investing in transmission build out and grid upgrades.
