By Chitrika Grover/ Updated On Wed, May 1st, 2024 News In Brief Sept 5: Canadian Solar, SOLARCYCLE Ink Recycling Pact CtrlS Noida Datacenter Turns to Solar for 60% of its Power Requirement CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, Asia’s largest Rated-4 datacenter operator, has taken a significant stride towards sustainability by transitioning its Noida Datacenter – DC1 – to solar power. This move will enable the facility to meet 60% of its annual energy requirements through renewable sources. Furthermore, CtrlS Datacenters will extend renewable energy credits to all customers hosted within this facility, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship. Birch Creek Energy Orders 547 MW First Solar Modules US based First Solar, announced an agreement to supply Birch Creek Energy (Birch Creek) with 547 MW of advanced Series 6 plus bifacial thin film photovoltaics (PV) modules. The St. Louis-based renewable energy company plans to deploy the modules in projects across its development pipeline in the United States. Germany Awards 2.2GW Ground-Mounted Solar Projects In an auction where it received demand for 4.1 GW, the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has awarded 2.2 GW of ground mounted solar projects post approval. The auction round ended on 1 March, and the 2.2 GW awarded compares favourably to the 1.6GW awarded in the previous round in December 2023. Hopewind, Energy Depot, New Energy Link and ISC Konstanz Partner To Study Energy System Applications The partnership also entails a distribution agreement between the latter three organisations.Hopewind VP Sara Wang said, “Hopewind aims to become a world-class solution provider for power conversion and control.
