Torrent Power Commissions 300 MW Solar Project In Gujarat

Torrent Power Limited subsidiary, Torrent Saurya Urja 2 Private Limited (TSU2) has received a certificate from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency certifying the commissioning of a 300 MW solar project w.e.f. December 15, 2024.

The Gujarat Energy Development Agency-certified solar power plant has come into full operation from December 15, 2024. Torrent Power acquired the official certificate on January 24, 2025, as per a filing with the stock exchanges.

EU Invests Over €1.2 Billion In Cross-Border Energy Infrastructure 

The European Union (EU) commission will allocate almost €1.25 billion in grants from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to 41 cross-border energy infrastructure projects, that have obtained the status of Projects of Common Interest and Projects of Mutual Interest (PCIs and PMIs) in 2024 under the Trans-European Networks for Energy (TEN-E) policy framework.

Meta, Zelestra Sign 595 MWac New Renewable Energy Agreements 

Meta has enabled the construction of four new solar energy projects in Texas by expanding its clean energy relationship with Zelestra, a global, multi-technology, customer-focused renewable energy company. Under the EAPAs, the newly signed projects will deliver electricity into the ERCOT grid with clean energy supporting Meta’s data centre operations. The projects are located in Hopkins, Lamar, Lampasas, and Henderson Counties.

KP Green Engineering Secures Rs 112 Crore Orders For Solar And Wind Project

KP Green Engineering recently secured new orders from multiple clients, totaling Rs. 111.80 crores, in January 2025. It secured Solar, Transmission Towers, Pooling Substations, and Solar Rooftops orders.  The company tod about its recent order in a regulatory filing before BSE, that it secured a 59.60 Cr. solar project, the company would develop a fixed tilt module mounting structure, supply tracker type module mounting structure, and structure part. It would also undertake a transmission project of 7.50 crores, a 36.0 cr polling station project, and an 8.70 crore rooftop solar project.  Thus, taking the total project size to 111.8 crores.

Fidra Secures Approval For UK’s BESS Project In Yorkshire

Fidra Energy, a European battery energy storage system (BESS) platform owned by institutional investor EIG, has received planning consent to build and operate a 1.4GW battery storage project at Thorpe Marsh, Yorkshire. The project will be the UK’s largest battery storage project and will power up to 800,000 homes during peak electricity demand hours.The project will feature lithium-ion battery systems supplied by Sungrow.The final investment decision (FID) is set for April 2025, paving the way for the first battery systems to be up and running by early 2027.
