Commencing on July 1, 2024, the two-year fixed-price contracts will cover around half of the company’s target portfolio of 1.07GW. Octopus Energy will use the battery storage installations in accordance with the PPA, paying a set charge per megawatt. Sumitomo to install 500MW battery storage in Japan by 2031 According to Reuters, the Japanese trade company Sumitomo intends to significantly boost its battery storage capacity from the present 9MW to 500MW by March 2031. Energy Vault Signs EPC and O&M Contract with ACEN Australia for 200 MW/400 MWh Battery Storage Systems Provider of grid-scale, sustainable energy storage solutions, Energy Vault Holdings, Inc., has announced that it has signed an agreement with ACEN Australia to supply two 400 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS). The systems and the New England Solar project by ACEN will be housed together. Under the terms of the EPC and O&M agreements, Energy Vault will supervise the engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance. This year will see the commencement of construction on the 200MW/400MWh BESS in New South Wales, with operations scheduled to commence in 2026.
