Tata Motor launches at Auto Expo 2023 The biennial mega automobile extravaganza held at Greater Noida is a hotbed for innovation and a visual treat to the visitor’s eyes. Auto Expo 2023 is no exception with an exciting line-up of EVs that bring together the best of technology, innovation and luxury. We provide you an insight into some such EV launches at Auto Expo 2023- Corrit Electric’s last-mile delivery electric bike- Transit Noida-based EV manufacturer Corrit Electric has unveiled its B2B focused delivery electric bike- Transit. The Transit series, the firm claims, is a one-stop solution for all B2B delivery needs. Corrit Electric will also be launching Transit’s B2C variant- ‘Transit Commute’ at the Expo. The commute variant will boast of a modular storage attachment with a 65-litre box capacity. Both the bikes are powered by a 60V, 2.8 kw battery capacity (Li-ion) with a range of 125 kms on a full charge. Furthermore, the bikes come with a load capacity of 200 Kg. With a wheelbase of 1350 mm and ground clearance of 190 mm, the firm claims the bikes are amongst the most efficient in the segment. Both the variants of Transit have a top speed of 70 kmph with three speed modes. Tata Motors’ NEV, EV line-up Tata Motors has unveiled greener sustainable logistics and mass mobility solutions powered by natural gas, electric and hydrogen. The Prima Range showcased the decarbonization pathway concept for long-haul trucking, with four clean propulsion technologies integrated in the Hydrogen ICE, Hydrogen Fuel Cell EV, Battery EV & LNG. The firm claims a few firsts to its credit: Starbus Fuel cell EV- India’s first Hydrogen fuel cell bus for commercial application, PRIMA E.55S- India’s first hydrogen fuel cell powered Tractor concept, PRIMA H.55S- India’s first hydrogen ICE powered concept truck. The firm also launched Magic EV– a electrified last-mile passenger transport. Continuing on its spree of last mile vehicles, Ace EV- a zero emission last mile distribution small commercial vehicle has also been launched on the platform. In the luxury EV segment, Tata Motors introduced its SUV SIERRA.EV; an All-wheel drive electric SUV, HARRIER.EV, and AVINYA, built on the GEN 3 architecture. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said, “With an aim to attain net zero emission by 2040, we are spearheading this mission on the back of our three-gen EV architecture strategy. With the Tiago.ev, we have disrupted the market by making EVs more accessible. Today, we have unveiled products across Gen 2 and Gen 3 architecture with the Avinya, Harrier.EV and our showstopper-Sierra.EV which will make EVs more aspirational. EV contribution in our portfolio is likely to increase to 25% in 5 years and reach 50% by 2030.” New Energy Vehicles & hydrogen fuel technology by MG Motor MG Motor India today showcased new energy vehicles (NEVs) with its third-generation hydrogen fuel cell technology, at the Auto Expo 2023. PROME P390, the newly developed third-generation fuel-cell system has a system power of 92 kW. The fuel-cell system can be used in fuel-cell passenger cars, city buses, medium and heavy trucks, and other vehicle platforms. Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, “As the industry continues exploring alternate fuel technologies, we are delighted to showcase the world’s leading hydrogen fuel-cell technology – PROME P390 to India.” In terms of technical specifications, the PROME P390 delivers 92 kW of power with a peak operating efficiency of 60 percent. It can operate at a maximum of 95 ℃ and can cold start at -30 ℃. The fuel-cell dimensions are – 790*598*820 (mm) with a durability of over 10,000 hrs. in addition, the PROME P390 comes with an Integrated architecture without external humidification. On the occasion, MG Motor also unveiled EUNIQ 7, a hydrogen fuel-cell powered vehicle, which has zero carbon emissions as it only emits water and also performs like an air purifier does, purifying air equivalent to 150 adults breathing in just one hour of driving, the firm claims. MG Motor also used the platform to unveil hatchback MG4 & Plug-in Hybrid SUV- MG EHS.
