MSEDCL Issues Tender for 615 MW Solar Projects Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. (MSEDCL), a wholly owned corporate entity under the Maharashtra Government, has issued an RFP for the procurement of 88 MW (ac) solar power from projects to be developed in Nagpur region of maharashtra through competitive bidding process (followed by e-reverse auction). The last date for submission of bids is 08.05.2023. Bids open on 08.05.2023. The ceiling tariff is Rs 3.20 per unit. The projects are to be selected for aggregate capacity of 88 MW for deployment of solar PV technology. However, the selection of projects would be technology agnostic within the technology mentioned hereinafter. Crystalline silicon or thin film etc., with or without trackers can be installed. Only commercially established and operational technologies can be used, to minimize the technology risk and to achieve the timely commissioning of the Projects. The successful bidders shall develop ground mounted solar PV power projects of capacity as quoted by the bidder in the bidding process. The net-worth of the bidder for the financial year ended on 31.03.2022 shall not be less than INR 0.55 Crores per MW (of the capacity quoted).In case of foreign companies, the applicable financial year shall be as per the applicable laws of the country of Incorporation. Recently, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited and one of the significant renewable energy players in the country, received a ‘Letter of Award’ (LoA) from MSEDCL to set up a 200 MW solar PV project in Solapur, Maharashtra.
