India's Solar Capacity Crosses 75 GW, Says Latest CEA Report Maharashtra State Electricity Board’s wholly owned subsidiary, MSEB Solar Agro Power Ltd, has issued 14 tenders to procure 3,048 MW of solar power under Component C of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) programme for feeder-level solarization. According to the tender document, the last date for the submission of bids is February 27 and the bids will be opened on the same day itself. As per the tender document, the cumulative capacity of a project bid should be at least of 50 MW. Further, the tender specifies the work of the bidder to involve funding and overseeing the entire lifecycle of the units, including development, design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance. The projects will be developed under Phase 2 of the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana program. So far as the eligibility criteria are concerned, the successful bidders must provide an earnest money deposit of Rs 1,00,000/MW. Along with that, the bidders who will be selected will also be required to furnish a performance bank guarantee of Rs 5, 00,000/MW of the quoted capacity. The technical criteria encompass bidders to demonstrate a commissioned or operational solar capacity of at least 250 MW for quoted capacities exceeding 200 MW and a requirement of 100 MW. The bidders are also required to have a positive net worth of Rs 710 million over the last three financial years. In other news, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has begun the development of Green Hydrogen project and its derivatives (Green Ammonia, Green Methanol) with the Maharashtra government. The project is expected to generate up to 1 million ton capacity per annum. Some other projects that have been planned to develop include Pump Hydro Projects (PHP) of 2 GW and the development of renewable energy (RE) projects with or without storage of up to 5 GW in the state.
