MNRE to launch a Renewable Energy mobile apps for solar and wind power bids and projects: Piyush Goyal

Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal on Wednesday launched ‘Contract Labour Payment Management System’- a portal of Coal India Limited (CIL).Goyal also felicitated employees of his Ministries, Public Sector Undertakings and organization/Statutory bodies for their path breaking work towards lighting up India in last two years.

Speaking on the occasion Goyal made announcement for a series of upcoming mobile application/ web portals of his Ministries. He informed that the ministry is working to launch a Renewable Energy mobile application for solar and wind power bids and projects; a Transmission app to provide information regarding location of new transmission projects and Coal linkages auction web portal.

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing a Programme on “Off-Grid and Decentralized Solar Applications” to promote use of solar power through solar home lights, solar street lights, power plants, solar pumps and mini micro grids to meet the energy requirements of the rural areas in the country.
The Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy minister in Rajaya Sabha on Monday said central financial assistance of 30% of the system cost is provided under the scheme to encourage the people in the remote/ rural areas to adopt these systems to meet their energy requirements.
