MNRE Extends BIS Certification Deadline for Solar Inverters till June 30, 2019 By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Tue, Jan 8th, 2019 It further added that, “These manufacturers will be allowed self-certification without submitting samples to test labs as the series guidelines for submitting samples to test labs are under preparation.” In a bid to provide relief to the industry, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has further extended the deadline for the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for solar inverters for another six months i.e. June 30, 2019. The move has come post government discussed the issues with the stakeholders. However, manufacturers should have valid IEC and test reports from international test labs corresponding to IS. Further, the MNRE said in a notification that, “The issues related to testing of inverters (items 4-5) was discussed with industry and test labs recognized by BIS, it is hereby notified that the date of self- certification relaxation for these items stands extended by six months i.e. up to 30th June 2019 subject to the condition that such manufacturers should have valid IEC and test reports from international test labs corresponding to IS.” It further added that, “These manufacturers will be allowed self-certification without submitting samples to test labs as the series guidelines for submitting samples to test labs are under preparation.” For more information click here.
