MNRE Ceases Empanelment Of Channel Partners Under Grid Connected Rooftop and Small Solar Power Plants Program By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Sat, Nov 25th, 2017 An auction of up to 21GW solar and wind capacities combined to be issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) by March 2018. In an official notice dated of 23 November 2017, The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) declared the discontinuation of empanelment of channel partners under grid connected rooftop and small solar power plants program. Mentioning further the ministry said that it has not made compulsory being a channel partner as the eligibility criteria to for the submission of tenders issued by respective implementing agencies under various Central or State schemes for solar rooftop projects. All such implementing agencies are therefore, advised not to disqualify any agency from participation in tenders, where such bids are yet to be closed, solely on the basis of “not being a channel partner of MNRE” as MNRE has now discontinued the empanelment of channel partners said the ministry.
