MNRE Appoints REC GM to The Position of Director (Finance) at IREDA

In a formal announcement made recently, Bijay Kr Mohanty has been chosen for the job of Director (Finance) at IREDA by a Search-cum-Selection Committee established by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). 

Following an interview, the committee selected Mohanty from a list of four shortlisted candidates. Ajay Mathur, Chief GM, REC Ltd, Gurugram; Dr. Ramesh Chandra Sharma, GM (F&A) & CFO, IREDA Ltd, New Delhi; Bijay Kr. Mohanty, Sr. GM (F&A), REC Ltd, Gurugram; and Surendra Kr. Sharma, AGM & Head (F), BHEL, and Haridwar were the candidates who underwent interviews.

Under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, IREDA is a Miniratna PSU (MNRE). In 1987, it became a non-banking financial entity. IREDA was active in advocating, creating, and providing funding for the establishment of projects involving new and renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and conservation.

Recently, Solar projects connected to interstate transmission (ISTS) in lots of 10 MW or more received approval from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for partial commissioning. The choice was made to speed up the commissioning of solar power projects and to follow the lead of such assistance already given to wind power projects.

Additionally, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, The Central Government approved three solar power parks for the state of Odisha under the Solar Park Scheme. The cumulative capacity of all three parks was 340MW.
