Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in association with the National Institute of Solar Energy has launched a course for the training of students in Design, Installation & Commissioning of Solar Water Pumping System. The three-week course which is known as ‘VARUNMITRA’ is fully financed by NISE/MNRE. The main objective of the programme is to train the people in Renewable Energy, Solar Resource Assessment & Basics of Solar Photovoltaic Understanding of Mounting structures, Site feasibility, Water table, Efficiency and Different Types of Heads Solar Water Pumping components such as DC- DC converter, inverter, battery, motors, pump –motor set. Further, the press release mentions that the course will also train people in, design and Installation of Grid & Standalone Solar PV Water Pumping System. Testing & Commissioning, O&M, Safety Practices for Solar PV Water Pumping System. The target audience of the course as mentioned on the MNRE website is, Diploma (Electrical/ Electronic/Mechanical/I&C) /Graduate Engineers (Electrical/ Electronic/Mechanical/I&C); Solar Entrepreneurs; Public Sector Undertaking Officials; EPC contractors etc. The last date for sending the application to NISE is December 28, 2018. Final selection of participants for the orientation will be done by the NISE on first come first basis. NISE will enrol 20 students in this course.
