MG Motor Procures RES for Manufacturing Automotive firm MG Motor India has revealed that 50 percent of its energy needs for manufacturing operations are being met by renewable energy sources. The firm has joined hands with renewable energy firm CleanMax to meet its renewable energy goals. The firm has reported a reduction of 36% in carbon emissions. The levels have witnessed a slide from 0.59 MT in 2022 to 0.38 MT in the first quarter of 2023. Consequently, the slide is emissions has led to a noteworthy reduction worth 2251 MT in the carmaker’s carbon footprint in the first quarter of 2023. If the trend continues to slide downward, it could led to an estimated carbon footprint reduction of 11,889 MT by the conclusion of 2023. MG Motor India is today among the few car manufacturers that have adopted green manufacturing practices. The firm has obtained green energy capacity worth 4.5 MW. Over the course of the following 15 years, the Halol facility of the firm will continue to obtain power from CleanMax’s hybrid park located in Rajkot, Gujarat. Recently, MG Motor India joined hands with Lohum, a producer of sustainable energy transition materials, to establish a comprehensive ecosystem for the reuse, and life cycle management of EV batteries.
