Meham Sugar Mills Tenders 20 MW Solar Power Project in Haryana By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Apr 14th, 2017 The tender for 20 MW Solar Power Project will include construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance. Meham Sugar Mills has tendered a 20 MW solar power project to be developed on a build, own, operate and transfer basis. The co-operative sugar mill will provide 80 acres of land on lease for 25 years to develop the projects, stated a source at Meham Sugar Mills. The scope of work will include, construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the 20 MW solar power project. The bid-submission deadline is May 7, 2017. The state government of Haryana proposed the utilization of unused land owned by Meham Sugar Mills to generate extra revenue by developing a solar power project. The project will be developed in a public- private partnership and the power will be sold to Haryana distribution companies. According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, as of March 2017 the state has an installed solar capacity of 32 MW and a pipeline of 175 MW.
