Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) a state nodal agency under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) recently released a tender inviting 

to set up 10 MW grid-connected rooftop solar PV systems. This project falls under RESCO mode on government sector buildings terraces.

MEDA in its tender invited bids to discover tariffs for rooftop solar power projects on government buildings. It seeks an expression of interest (EoI) for discovering the tariff for 10 MW grid-connected rooftop solar PV systems under RESCO mode on government sector buildings terraces/ground in Maharashtra. The project developers are expected to submit their queries on or before 02/07/2024, 17:00 Hrs through email:- [email protected]

The EoI holder is expected to submit the security deposit of Rs. 5,00,000/- at the time of submission and submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs. 2,25000/- (No exemption towards EMD is allowed to any MSME company/organization.)

The tender mentioned that the pre-bid meeting is expected to be held at 15.00 Hrs on 03/07/2024 at MEDA Head Office located in Maharashtra. It placed 22nd July 2024 at 14.00 hrs as the last date and time for submission of EoI and the bid would open till 23rd July at 15.00 Hrs for receiving EoIs. Whereas, the EoI processing fee is Rs. 11,800/- including 18% GST through E-payment Net Banking, RTGS, and NEFT only. 

In May 2024 this year, notwithstanding the technical glitches in the PM Surya Ghar portal, India added 450 MW of new rooftop solar capacities. This data was revealed from the latest renewable capacity data of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).  As per the latest data from the MNRE, India’s total rooftop solar capacity touched 12,463 MW by the end of May 2024. This is against the total rooftop solar capacity of 12,013 MW in April. The new capacity additions come at a time when the Indian government has launched its ambitious target of adding rooftop solar in one crore households. During May 2024, India also added 2463.82 MW of new solar capacities. Thus rooftop solar segment accounted for 18% of the total new solar capacities added by India in May 2024.
