Manipur Requests Developers For Setting up 100 MW Grid-Connected Solar Power Project

The Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA) has invited bids for setting up a 100 MW solar project at Jiribam

Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA) has released a tender for the selection of the solar power developers for setting up a 100 MW Grid-Connected Solar PV Power Project at Jiribam, Manipur, at an estimated cost of the project for Rs. 400.00 Crores approximately.

As part of the Government of India’s target to achieve a cumulative capacity of 100 GW Solar PV installation by the year 2022. MANIREDA has invited proposals for setting up of the grid-connected Solar PV Project in Manipur on a “Build Own Operate” (B-O-O) basis for a capacity of 100 MW.

The project is to be developed will be located 16.74 km away from the 132/33 KV Kadamtala substation and 18 km away from the main market area in the Jiribam district. Over an approximate area of 600 acres identified land parcel. The land is owned by the state government and will be provided to the developer on a lease basis.

Bidders have to upload their bid at MANIREDA’s official website. The pre-bid discussions would be held on January 5, 2021. However, the developers can bid for the grid-connected solar plant, having a ceiling tariff fixed at Rs 3.0/ kWh, until January 15, 2021. While the opening of the E-tender will occur on the same day.

MSPDCL shall enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful Bidder selected based on this RfS for purchase of Solar Power for 25 years based on the terms, conditions, and provisions of the RfS.

The power generated from the above Project has been provisioned to be sold to the Discom of Manipur, which shall be the Buying Entity under this RfS. The Buying Entity shall procure power under this RfS. MANIREDA shall be the bid management agency for the Selection of solar power developers for setting up of this project.

However, the selection of the project would be technology agnostic within Solar PV Technology. The Project having 100 MW capacity under the RfS, Crystalline Silicon or Thin Film or CPV, with or without Trackers can be installed. Commercially established and operational technologies can be used to minimize the technology risk, only.
