Manipur: NHPC Issues Rooftop Solar Tender For 13 Govt Buildings

NHPC’s renewable energy arm, NHPC Renewable Energy (REL), recently issued a tender to select developers for grid-connected rooftop solar plants at various government buildings in Manipur. These projects will be developed under the RESCO mode, with a bid submission deadline of March 17, 2025.

NHPC REL manipur rooftop solar tender stated, “The bidder is expected to have experience as an EPC contractor in the supply of Balance of System (BOS) items and the erection, testing, and commissioning of the entire solar plant.” The bidder must fulfill the technical qualification criteria of having designed and commissioned a solar photovoltaic (SPV) based grid-connected power plant with a capacity of 400 kWp or higher, with at least one plant of 40 kWp or more. The bidder should also be a developer of SPV-based grid-connected power plants with a cumulative installed capacity of 400 kWp or higher, including at least one plant of 40 kWp or more.

Buildings/Locations

The tender has identified 13 buildings for the project, each with different capacities. NHPC has assessed these projects (25 kW and above, subject to SL restrictions). The locations and their respective sanctioned capacities include:

These include Ningshingkhul District Hospital (187 kW), CJM Court Tamenglong, Khoupilong, Tamenglong (30 kW), DC Office Complex (25 kW), District Hospital (29 kW), and District Hospital, Chandel (47.25 kW). Other locations are the Directorate of Sericulture (187.5 kW), Manipur Central Jail (50 kW), JNIMS A Block (375 kW), Nupi Keithel 3, Phouoibi Ima Keithel (75 kW), and the Public Works Division Office (187.5 kW). Additionally, the Directorate of Health Services (187.5 kW), Manipur State Assembly (1125 kW), and Industrial Training Institute (75 kW) are also included in the project.
