Maithon Power, TCS Join Hands to Launch Training Program ‘Daksh’ By Anirudh Sharma/ Updated On Thu, Jul 26th, 2018 Maithon Power aims to develop requisite skills in graduating youth from the geographically remote and economically backward region of Nirsa, a census town of Jharkhand. Maithon Power, a joint venture of Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), has inaugurated a soft skill training program ‘Daksh’ in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Service (TCS). The program aims to develop requisite skills in graduating youth from the geographically remote and economically backward region of Nirsa, a census town of Jharkhand. Commenting on the partnership, TCS, Trainer, Tandrima Ray said, “This 100 hours training program spread over 20 days will focus on business communication, business etiquettes, computer knowledge, soft skills such as body language in official environment, public speaking, group discussion and presentation skills.” The project is categorized as an initiative of Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) industry in the remote region. It is also aimed at enhancing the youth’s employability and their basic competency. Speaking on the initiative, MPL, CEO & ED, Purushottam Thakur said, “Success stories of any country depends upon its youth and we at MPL strive for developing requisite employability skills to enable them flourish in their career and contribute towards our nation’s progress under ‘Daksh Initiative’.” Maithon Power along with Tata Power has started many other community development programs mainly in health, education, employability and livelihood sector.
