Maharashtra To Solarise 272 Govt Schools, Issues Tender

The Maharashtra government has now planned to solarise 272 Zila Parisad schools in the state. The Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) has issued a tender in this regard. Under the plan, the state nodal agency has planned smaller grid-connected rooftop solar projects of 2kW each at these schools.

The tender said that with a total of 2kW in each school, the tender envisioned adding 544kW of total solar power. With this plan, the state government has planned to use solar power to cater to the energy needs of these schools. The tender also mandated Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of these projects during the initial five years of the project. The MEDA tender also talked about installation of remote monitoring system to monitor the performance of these systems.

Talking about the scope of the work, the MEDA tender read, “Survey, Design, Fabrication, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning with Remote Monitoring System (RMS) of total 544 KW Capacity Grid-Connected Solar PV Power Plant Under Roof-Top Net Metering at 272 Zilha Parishad Schools (2kw each) under Umred, Kalmeshwar, Katol, Narkhed, Parshivani, Bhivapur, Mouda, Ramtek, Saoner, Hingna, Kamthi, Kuhi, Nagpur Gramin, taluka in Nagpur District in the State of Maharashtra with Comprehensive Maintenance Contract for 5 Years on “Turnkey” Contract Basis,”

The agency has earmarked a total of Rs 3.45 crore for this project. This comes to around Rs 1.22 lakh for each of these project of 2 Kw rooftop system.

“ After issuing LoI, the successful bidder has to complete detailed survey of all site location along with due consultation of beneficiary authority person or its nominee and finalize the location where solar system equipments has to be installed. It includes necessary wiring arrangements, Solar Module Mounting Structures, Earthing pit, Inverter, ACDB, DCDB, LA, Net meter, Generation Meter, etc. Bidder has to submit letter to MEDA, Nagpur after finalizing the site location along with respective beneficiary authority person signature,” the tender said.

MEDA said that the bidders will be responsible for providing ‘net metering’ system from respective DISCOM. “Installation of Net-Metering is responsibility of Selected bidder, for this Selected bidder has to submit the application with all necessary documents and fees and additional SD Amount to respective DISCOM. bidder shall provide sealed & tested energy meter at consumption side & generation side of SPV Power Plant,” it said.
