The Rs 90 crores (excluding taxes) project LOA comprises 3HP, 5HP, and 7HP solar pump systems. This project is slated to be completed by FY25-26. The company recently shared its plans to venture into solar manufacturing besides expanding its footprints in solar EPC business. The firm has plans to start manufacturing solar modules and mounting structures with a capacity of 1GWp each. The firm has planned to establish its manufacturing unit at Badodiya Village, Chaksu Tehsil, Jaipur, Rajasthan. It has an estimated capital expenditure of ₹100 crore. Significance of the Order The electrical safety and distribution equipment manufacturer secured the recent order in Maharashtra, which supports the company’s clean energy plans. It has set a target of deploying 1.5 million solar pumps. It is backed by a ₹100 billion allocation to boost decarbonization of the agricultural sector. With over 100,000 solar pumps already installed, the state’s program reflects immense growth potential in the sector. This project aligns with RMC’s broader vision of expanding its Solar EPC and IPP footprint. Alignment with RMC’s Solar Manufacturing Plant: The announcement follows RMC’s recent decision to establish a Solar Module Manufacturing Plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with an investment of ₹100 crore. This backward integration strategy is aimed at reducing reliance on external suppliers and supporting the growing demand for solar modules in large-scale projects such as this solar pump initiative. Commenting on the development, Ankit Agrawal, CEO and Whole-Time Director of RMC Switchgears Limited, said: “It reinforces the strategic rationale behind our investment in solar module manufacturing, enabling us to efficiently execute projects and contribute to the nation’s renewable energy objectives.
