Luminous Announces India’s First Green Solar Panel Manufacturing Facility In Uttarakhand By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Jan 27th, 2023 Highlights : Luminous Power Technologies- – A Schneider Electric Company aims to commission the factory by December end 2023 ~ The state-of-the-art plant will be fully automated and IGBC certified as a green facility Delhi-based Luminous Power Technologies has announced its new state-of-the-art solar panel manufacturing plant in the northern state of Uttarakhand. Located in the industrial region of Rudrapur, the state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest technology to design and produce high-quality solar panels that will be used for both residential and commercial applications. The new manufacturing plant will play a vital role in expanding the company’s solar portfolio and is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year. Once operational, the facility, spread across 4.5 Lac sq. ft/ 10 acres will help enable a solar production capacity of 500 MW per annum, expandable up to 1 GW, producing a range of solar panels with a power output of 40W to 600W. The factory also marks the first solar panel; facility for Luminous. Increased production will also help Luminous Power Technologies strengthen its retail operations and solar offerings across India. Commenting on the occasion, Preeti Bajaj, CEO and Managing Director, Luminous Power Technologies said, ” This is a major step forward in Luminous Power Technologies’ journey towards enabling a cleaner and more sustainable future and aligns with hon’ble Prime Minister’s goal of being Net Zero by 2070. Spread across 10-acres, the state-of-the-art and fully automated facility reflects our continued efforts to invest in new and innovative technology in the field of green energy solutions. The plant not only allows us to expand our solar portfolio to meet the growing demand for renewable power in India, but it also reaffirms our continued commitment to the economic development of the state of Uttarakhand.” According to Rajiv Ganju, Sr. Vice President, Global Supply Chain, Luminous Power Technologies- “The plant has been certified as a green facility by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and will significantly mitigate concerns around CO2 emissions, with an estimated reduction of more than 70 million tons per year. This solar panel facility is fully robotic and will use 100% energy from solar power. To ensure that its manufacturing processes are sustainable, the facility meets all relevant manufacturing standards. There is an in-house STP and there are zero effluents generated from the factory and zero water discharge. This new facility is a major step forward in our commitment to reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable energy.
