Lightsource bp said that the sale agreement speaks about its capability to invest in, deliver and construct quality solar sites that can support renewable growth ambitions of investors, utilities, and other asset owners. Lightsource bp, United Kingdom based solar energy player, has announced that it has agreed the sale of its 247MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project to Plenium Partners and Bankinter Investment. The two purchasing firms are independent renewable energy investors. Lightsource bp said that the objective of the sale is to support its growth across the sector. It has not revealed the price value of the sale agreement. Lightsource bp claims to be one of Southern Europe’s largest renewable portfolio owners. The 247 MW solar portfolio is a five-project cluster in Aragón, Spain, which has been in operation since 2021. Over the last 4 years, Lightsource bp has created a project development pipeline of over 4 GW. As far as the disinvestment deal is concerned, Plenium has closed the transaction together with Bankinter Investment, the investment banking subsidiary of Bankinter. Lightsource bp mentioned that the two investors have completed the purchase of the portfolio through various alternative-investment vehicles participated by Bankinter’s private banking and institutional clients. Plenium Partners is a Madrid-based investor and manager focusing on renewable energy with investments in excess of EUR 6 billion. It currently manages an operating platform with a 3 GW total capacity. Bankinter Investment claims to have become a benchmark in alternative investments in the Spanish market. Bankinter has launched 19 vehicles with committed capital by investors above EUR 4 billion which, including project financing, currently represent a portfolio of assets under management of almost 7 billion euros.
