American clothing company known for manufacturing denim jeans, Levi Strauss has joined forces with Walmart Inc, Orsted, Schneider Electric for the purchase of percentage of the renewable energy that is to be generated by Kansas-based Sunflower Wind Farm. Walmart’s Gigaton Power Purchasing Agreement Initiative The Gigaton Power Purchasing Agreement (GPPA) is a supply chain-based initiative from Walmart that looks to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy through an aggregate power purchase agreement. The said twelve-year PPA is the first under Walmart and Schneider Electric’s renewable energy accelerator Gigaton PPA. The GPPA will pave the way for Levi Strauss to be able to achieve its energy goals and cut down on emissions and slow down the climate change.
