KOSOL Energie Integrates 1 GW TOPCon Solar Panel Capacity A manufacturer of solar products and solar modules based in Gujarat, KOSOL Energie has integrated a 1 GW production line. With this addition, the firm’s solar module capacity has reached 2.25 GW. The new production line, set to commence by the end of this year, will produce 1 GW TOPCon solar modules. The modules, which will be available in both mono-facial and bifacial versions, will vary from 580 Wp up to 715 Wp. The new unit also boasts dual glass module manufacturing technology. Last month at the REI Expo 2023, the firm also unveiled a 410 Wp module especially designed for residential rooftop segment. It also introduced a 460 Wp module tailored for commercial rooftop projects. KOSOL Energies has been on a capacity expansion spree. Earlier in the year, it had announced the addition of an 850 MW fully automated line to its manufacturing facility. Given the higher efficiencies levels that TOPCon offers, Indian manufacturers are now transitioning to this technology, preferring it over MONO Perc. Some other firms that have introduced this technology to their firms and augmenting capacities of this technology are Gautam Solar, Premier Energies, Rayzon Solar, Goldi Solar. China is currently the leader of TOPCon. Firms are also placing their bets on glass-glass module manufacturing technology. These include RenewSys, Gautam Solar among others.
