Coal India Limited (CIL) has now awarded KPI Green a contract to set up 300 MW of its solar project at Khavda. CIL had earlier bagged this project from Gujarat Urja Vikash Nigam’s (GUVNL). The tender for this project was released in October this year. The tender result was released within a month.

Coal India, earlier had issued a tender seeking EPC players to setup the Khavda solar project for the government entity. The company has asked the EPC player to develop the project and ensure the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of these projects for the initial five years. KPI Green, in its filing before the exchanges has now informed about the recent order.

Letter of Award

“We are pleased to inform you that the Company has emerged as the successful bidder in the Coal India Limited (CIL) tender …October 16, 2024 for setting up of Grid Connected 300 MWAC Ground Mounted Solar PV plant. We have received the Letter of Award (‘LOA’) from Coal India Limited (CIL) ….dated November 30, 2024, awarding us the order for setting up of Grid Connected 300 MWAC Ground Mounted Solar PV plant of Coal India Ltd. located at GIPCL’s Solar Park, Khavda, Gujarat with Operation & Maintenance (O&M) for 05 years,” KPI Green said.

As the successful bidder, KPI Green will supply and transport PV modules to Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat, including transit insurance for crystalline solar modules with nominal wattage and dimensions as specified in the tender. The initial tender required a minimum capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 28% at the delivery point, with the plant’s output in kWh meeting a minimum NEEGG of 73,58,40,000 units in its first year.

KPI Green will also handle the supply, forwarding, and transportation of solar modules to Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat. This includes providing transit insurance for crystalline solar PV modules with nominal wattage and dimensions as mentioned in the scope of supply for the 1500V system voltage, including DC overloading and mandatory spares.
