Kerala Govt Plans To Solarise Its Health Centers

The Kerala government has now planned to augment the growth of solar energy at its health centres. In the latest development, the state Agency For New & Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) has issued multiple tenders to solarise selected health centers, seeking vendors.

The state nodal agency has now planned to install a 15 Kwp solar project at Iringal Family Health Centre in Kozhikode. This project has been planned as a grid-connected solar project. ANERT is seeking vendors for the project. The state agency has also mandated the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of these projects for the initial five years.

In another tender, the state government entity has planned to develop another 15kWp of grid-connected solar power plant at the Community Health Centre at Narikkuni in the Kozhikode district of the state.

In another tender, ANERT has sought vendors to develop 110kWp grid-connected solar power plants at two offices under the Drugs Control department in the Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam districts of the state.

“ANERT is the State Nodal Agency for Renewable Energy in Kerala having its Headquarters at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and various district-level offices. This tender has been issued by the ANERT for the selection of an agency for the Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of grid-connected Solar Power Plants with a 5-year warranty in Government buildings mentioned in this tender document,” the tender read.

The tender talks about the installation of solar projects of 50 kWp at the Thiruvananthapuram Drugs Control office, it has planned 60 kWp solar project at the Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory in Ernakulam.

The state government earlier also issued a tender to solarise several of its health centers. Recently it also issued a tender to commission Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College on a pilot basis.
