Kapil Maheshwari is the new CEO at Welspun New Energy

Welspun New Energy, a subsidiary of Welspun Enterprises Ltd (WEL) has appointed Kapil Maheshwari as its CEO and Executive Director.

Before he joined Welspun, Maheshwari was responsible for leading Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen Ecosystem Development at Reliance Industries. He brings to the table two decades of experience in solar, greem hydrogen, storage, electronics. He has experience doing business in USA, India, Germany, SEA and Middle East.

The newly appointed CEO holds a Masters degree from IIT, Bombay in EE ( Power Systems and Power Electronics) and Executive MBA from IIM, Bangalore in General Management.

In the past, Maheshwari has held several other appointments such as the CEO of Hinduja Renewables, Vice President Business Development (Head of North India Operations) at CleanMax Solar, Head-Sales and Business Development at QCells India, Head- Business Development & Business Design at Mahindra Susten.

Maheshwari has several accolades to his credit. He was awarded ‘Best Renewable Energy CEO 2018- India’ by Global CEO Excellence Awards, 40 under 40, Most Power Business Leader Power 100 for two consecutive years and CEO of the Year by National Awards for Excellence in Solar Energy.

A few months ago, Welspun India Limited announced that the firm had acquired 26 per cent stake in Clean Max Thanos (CTPL) in order to obtain renewable energy under a captive structure. Welspun said that the acquisition would cost the firm Rs 3.80 crore.
