JinkoSolar Awarded as Overall High Achiever in RETC’s PVMI Report

JinkoSolar Awarded as Overall High Achiever in RETC’s PVMI Report

One of the world’s largest solar panel manufacturers, Shanghai-based JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. today announced receiving the ‘Overall High Achiever’s awards at RETC’s (Renewable Energy Testing Center) 2021 PVMI (PV Module Index) Report for the second consecutive year.

Notably, JinkoSolar is one of only five solar module manufacturers to receive this status in 2021. As a China-based major in solar cells and modules, LONGi Solar has also bagged the ‘2021 High Achiever’ awards in RETC’s PVMI Report for the third consecutive year.

RETC’s PVMI Report collects and ranks its independent test data, identifying the industry’s leading PV module manufacturers and technologies. Also, the report highlights industry trends and features a section on “Evaluating Large-Format Modules” (LFM). The list of LFM benefits includes a significant increase in power, lower production costs at a manufacturing level, lower in-field labor costs, and potential BOS savings.

Additionally, the report suggests that not all large format modules are created equal, with some modules having the same glass thickness as their predecessors. RETC’s hailstorm durability test shows that modules with thicker front-side glass are more resilient to large-diameter hailstones.

“Congratulations to JinkoSolar for once again becoming a RETC Overall High Achiever. We appreciate their continued partnership and are proud to support JinkoSolar by providing key metrics highlighting their module quality, performance, and durability. Our testing data has confirmed that JinkoSolar’s PV modules are great at withstanding extreme weather conditions such as hail,” congratulated Mr. Cherif Kedir, President and CEO of RETC.

Consequently, JinkoSolar manufactures modules with 3.2mm front-side glass and is proven to withstand 55mm hailstones at 34m/s, according to RETC’s test data.

While speaking of their achievement, JinkoSolar’s General Manager, Mr. Nigel Cockroft stated, “We are proud to receive this recognition again. Our rigorous in-house quality control standards and validation from third-party labs like RETC give our customers around the globe confidence that they are receiving high performing, reliable modules.”

Recently, at the 15th SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition 2021, JinkoSolar showcased some of its new products too. That includes Tiger Pro 415W, which is its first 400+ watt solar panel, and a new N-type TOPCon solar panel.
