Jharkhand Plans RESCO Aid To Boost Solar Growth In Giridih Jharkhand Plans RESCO Aid To Boost Solar Growth In Giridih

The Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) has now decided to rope in the services of RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) to boost the growth of solar energy in Giridih. Giridih is the proposed solar city of Jharkhand.

As the per the plan of the state renewable agency of Jharkhand, JREDA seeks to develop a 18 MW (AC) of ground-mounted solar project at Akdoni Khurd village in the district. It plans to develop the solar project at 80-90 acres of land in the region.

It has now issued a tender in this regard and sought bids from interested RESCO operators to work with JREDA. The last date for submission of bids for this tender is September 23. The state is now working to ensure all the power demands of Giridih are catered through renewable sources, mainly with solar energy.

The tender said that the interested bidders needs to have an experience of developing atleast one ground mounted or floating solar project connected with the grid, having a capacity of atleast 15 MW or above in a single location in the last seven years with any government organisation.

“However, such Grid connected Solar PV Power Plant capacity must have been in satisfactory operation for at least one (01) year prior to the last date of bid submission,” it said.

In other case, the tender said, “The bidder shall have experience in the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of at least 2 (Two) Ground Mounted/Floating solar photovoltaic based grid connected power plant having an individual capacity of each 9 MW or above (at Two Locations) in last 7 years (FY 2016-17 to FY 2022-23) with any SNA / Govt. Organization / PSU/Private. However, such Grid connected Solar PV Power Plant capacity must have been in satisfactory operation for at least six (06) months prior to the last date of bid submission.”

It also said that bidders are required to have a minimum Average Annual Turnover requirement of Rs 3,50,00,000 (Indian Rupees Three Crores Fifty Lakh) per MW of the total estimated project capacity, of immediate last three (3) financial years [FY 2020-21, FY 2021-22, FY 2022-23].

In line with direction of MNRE, the Jharkhand government selected “Giridih City” to be developed as model Solar City of the State. Government of Jharkhand has sanctioned Solar City Scheme according to the Concept note issued by MNRE for development of Solar City. To meet the annual electricity demand of Giridih City through solar power generation, a few grid connected interventions are proposed, such as Ground mounted Solar, Ground Mounted Solar projects etc.
