To promote the solar mini/ micro grid, Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) has issued a tender for five-year operations and maintenance of 47 mini/micro grids installed in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Apart from maintenance and operations, the tender also includes repairing/ replacement of PCUs, modules and batteries among other components.

As per the released tender document, the contract time duration is for 5 years. The last date for bid submission is August 08, 2024.

Tender mentions the estimated cost at Rs 8.70 crore, for the project is 891 kWp of capacity.

The JERDA tender states, “the contract price includes the provision of 5 years operation and mandatory Comprehensive Maintenance Contract & Operation (CMCO) to ensure long-term sustainability of the system.”

Operation and Maintenance

Moreover, the operation and maintenance includes ensuring operation of the system on a day to day basis. The system should be operational from evening to morning with full illumination. The contract shall include ensuring servicing & replacement guarantee for parts and components (such as battery, electronics, Inverter, PV modules and other hardware of SPV SPP for five years.

Preventive/Routine Maintenance

For routine maintenance, the contractor has to do routine maintenance twice in a month. It should include activities such as, cleaning and checking the health of the SPV system, cleaning of module surface, topping up of batteries, tightening of all electrical connections etc.

Deployment of Manpower/Equipment

Mandating the selection of skilled manpower from the local village, the JREDA tender states that the successful bidder have to deploy at least two (2) skilled (Suryamitra) manpower at all times for smooth operation of Solar Mini grid, installed in the villages in West Singhbhum District. The skilled manpower is required in the plant 24 x 7 to keep the  SPV power plant fully functional, regular checks to identify any leakage of electricity among others.
