Jammu Kashmir Energy Development Agency hosts solar energy products exhibition to generate awareness

A solar energy products exhibition was organised here recently to generate awareness about the long-term benefits of solar energy. The exhibition was jointly organised by the Jammu Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) with some private partners.

“Solar energy will save us from global warming. The major problem over here is electricity; in this case, solar energy will help us a lot. This is a one-time investment but will give long time benefits. From this initiative people will get awareness,” said Ashiq Bhat a private dealer.

This new concept if adopted fully by the common masses will be very beneficial for them, as the valley faces huge shortage of electricity during winter season.

Participants appreciated the steps taken by the concerned authorities. Solar geysers, lights, bulbs, lanterns and heating systems were put on display and they felt these items would be very useful during the winter season in the Kashmir Valley.

“It is very useful, we can do number of things with these solar technology. This is for our benefit. This exhibition is very good,” said Anees Mir, a local resident.
