JA Solar Supplies Modules for Thailand’s Largest Floating Solar Plant By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Wed, Jun 17th, 2020 JA Solar has announced that Thailand’s 12.5 MW floating solar plant, which utilised its PERC modules, has been successfully connected to the grid. JA Solar, a leading manufacturer of high-performance photovoltaic products, has announced that Thailand’s 12.5 MW floating solar power plant, which utilised its high-efficiency PERC modules, was successfully connected to the grid. As the first large-scale floating photovoltaic power plant in Thailand, the completion of the project is of great significance to the development of local renewable energy. The plant is constructed in an industrial reservoir, and its generated electricity is delivered to the customer’s manufacturing base via underground cables. The plant will become a solar park opening to the general public and visitors with a focus on promoting the development of local renewable energy after entering operation. Compared with traditional PV power plants, the floating PV power plants are capable to effectively increase power generation efficiency and prevent degradation by decreasing the usage of land, boosting the unobstructed sunlight exposure, and lowering module and cable temperatures. Additionally, these modules are able to maintain high-efficiency performance and stable power output, providing a strong guarantee for optimising the power generation capacity of the system. Jin Baofang, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of JA Solar, said, “JA Solar will continue to focus on technological innovation and product quality while meeting the diverse needs of our global customers and promoting the development of renewable energy on a global scale.” Last month, we had reported that the firm had announced that the power output of its high-efficiency solar modules under standard testing conditions has set a new industry record reaching above 525 W. Such an ultra-highly powerful PV module with 525W+ is designed to meet the customers’ desire and demand for further reducing the levelised cost of energy (LCOE) and maximising the economic value of PV systems for renewable energy generation. The goal of this new high-power module series is to bring JA Solar’s high-quality and cost-effective PV products to a whole new level for its worldwide customers. The modules will be commercially available in the second half of 2020. Tags: Floating Solar, International, JA Solar, JA Solar Floating Solar, modules, Thailand
