JA Solar Launches Industrial Green Development Initiative

China-based solar module manufacturer JA Solar has launched an initiative aimed at addressing climate change and fostering sustainable development of industrial and commercial enterprises on a global scale. The initiative seeks to bridge sectoral divides and industry chain barriers, paving the way for green and low-carbon development strategies for industrial and commercial enterprises.

The initiative, titled Global Industrial and Commercial Enterprises Green Development Initiative, underscores the urgent need for collective action in combating climate change, according to JA Solar media statement. Through this collaboration, JA Solar and its partners are committed to raising awareness about low-carbon environmental practices, advancing energy efficiency and emission reduction efforts, fostering the development of a circular economy, and prioritising the use of green energy through technological innovation, said the company in a statement.

“Acknowledging climate change as one of the paramount challenges of our time, JA Solar has underscored the critical role of rallying the global industrial and commercial sectors to effect substantial change. Through the synergy of their collective knowledge and resources, the coalition endeavors to forge a green, low-carbon value chain, making a substantial contribution to the worldwide shift towards a sustainable economy,” said the company in a statement.

China is the world leader in renewable energy, including 40 percent of the planet’s entire solar capacity, reported Rystad Energy. While the US stood at second position with 12 percent. “China’s solar sector is set to break records in the coming years. When installed capacity crosses the 500 gigawatts (GW) mark by the end of 2023, it will take 13 years to reach that milestone. That total, however, will be doubled to 1 terawatt (TW) in just three additional years,” Rystad Energy said. Further, according to China’s National Energy Administration (NEA), the country increased its solar capacity by 216.9 GW last year, eclipsing its record of 87.4 GW from the previous year.
