Wind power on revival in India Wind power installations in India have seen a surge in India in 2023-24, growing even faster than solar power, government data suggested. An analysis by Saur Energy revealed that between January and July 2023, India added 2GW of wind power. Top honchos of wind power firms in their investors have hinted that the installations might expedite in Q4. Recently, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Fund I (CI GMF I), also took the final investment decision (FID) on a 300 MW onshore wind project in India together with Viviid Renewables (Viviid), an Indian developer and balance-of-plant service provider. The project is located in Karnataka with favorable wind conditions, good site accessibility, and an existing grid connection in relative proximity, and construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Another wind power behemoth-Suzlon has also boasted about the new order for its 3MW wind turbines in different states for several projects.
