Inox Wind Bags 153 MW Supply Order For Tamil Nadu Project By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Fri, Mar 7th, 2025 Inox Wind Inox Wind Limited (IWL) has secured a 153 MW order from a leading renewable energy developer, which is part of a large global clean energy company. This order is for the supply of IWL’s 3 MW-class turbines for a project developed by a Tamil Nadu-based company. Additionally, IWL will provide limited-scope EPC services for the project and multi-year operations and maintenance (O&M) services after the turbines are commissioned. Commenting on the occasion, Kailash Tarachandani, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Inox Wind Ltd., said, “We are delighted to announce a large 153 MW order from one of India’s leading renewable energy players, adding another strong customer to our well-diversified and extensive order book.” Wind Energy Project Expansion Across Tamil Nadu There has been a recent surge in wind energy projects in Tamil Nadu, with companies like JSW also planning expansions in the state. Recently, a Tamil Nadu-based chemical manufacturer, Chemplast Sanmar, along with its wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) Chemplast Cuddalore Vinyls Limited (CCVL), entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with JSW Green Energy Nine Limited. They were advised on the deal by Gaurav Kwatra led Infinia Solar. As per the terms of the agreement, the companies have agreed to execute a Share Subscription and Shareholders’ Agreement with JSW Neo Energy Limited and JSW Green Energy Nine Limited. The company further commented on the collaboration, stating, “JSW Green Energy Nine Limited (SPV) has been incorporated to set up renewable power plants in Tamil Nadu, with a solar capacity of 64.9 MW AC (92.80 MW DC) and a wind capacity of 20 MW. The SPV, as a captive generator, will supply power to the company and its subsidiary under the Group Captive Power Scheme.” Other companies, like the American multinational technology company Amazon, have also invested in new projects, including wind farms in Tamil Nadu. The latest projects Amazon has invested in include an 80 MW wind project at JSW Energy Dharapuram in Tamil Nadu. These projects will contribute to India’s renewable energy goals and help create numerous construction jobs in their respective regions, according to the developers.
