Green Stocks Aug 26: TATA Power, JSW Energy Stocks Prices Up

As the markets soared for the fifth consecutive day, the Indian markets finally moved to green territory for the year 2025. Making the most of it was a somewhat unexpected green stock today Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (Waaree RTL), which spiked over 10%. Waaree of course has been one of the biggest losers ever since the correction started in August last year, so the jump today will have done more to kindle hopes among investors than start a rush for profit booking. Among other stocks, it was actually a relatively subdued end to the day, after a vey strong start in the first half. Waaree’s parent firm, Waaree Energies also enjoyed a strong day, up over 3%.

On the other hand, from Adani Green Energy to Acme Solar, SW Renewable to Shakti Pumps , almost all stocks gave up gains from the morning, with Acme going all the way back into the red again. However, with February numbers for capacity additions coming in that show renewable energy on a very strong wicket for this Financial year with record additions, with March expected to top off that number handsomely, the market does have strong momentum to look at.
FY26, at this stage shows no signs of suffering from any major hiccups, other than the usual issues for India. Of course, the not-so-small matter of finding buyers for many of the awarded tenders is beginning to assume dangerous proportions, but the street remains hopeful that a resolution is being worked on to everyone’s satisfaction. Until then, expect firms that are more focused on the corporate segment, or the rooftop and agri sectors, to continue to get the benefit of doubt, even as the largest developers will continue to face the overhang of worries on their projects.
