Indian Firm Cliantech Solutions Lands 600 MW Solar Module Project in UAE Turnkey solutions-providing firm, Cliantech Solutions and Technologies LLP has bagged a turnkey contract from Magnus Green Solar, a Dubai-based engineering firm in the renewable energy segment. The project will require Cliantech to set up a state-of-the-art solar module manufacturing facility. Initially, the site will boast of an initial capacity of 600 MW every year. This capacity will then be augmented to 1.2 GW annually. This advancement will take place in two phases. The project will be set into operation in August this year. The automated production line of 600 MW will incorporate technologies such as Mono PERC, Bifacial, and TopCon. The Uttar Pradesh-based firm will set up a special team in the UAE to look after the project, which will be a first such in Dubai with an automated line of 600 MW capacity. Dubai is emerging as a favoured destination for solar projects. This can be attributed to the fact that the UAE government has actively giving a push to solar projects by way of incentives. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), for example, has introduced the Shams Dubai initiative. The initiative has been instrumental in giving homeowners and businesses a push to establish solar panels and connect them to the grid. Recently, the world’s largest single site solar park in Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park received two bids (ACWA Power and Masdar) for the phase VI of the1,800 MW tender launched in September 2022. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) revealed that Masdar submitted the lowest bid of USD 1.62154 cents per kilowatt hour. Masdar is the UAE-government owned renewable energy firm.
