Indian Embassy in China Hold Seminar on Indian Solar Sector By Zulkarnain/ Updated On Wed, Jul 11th, 2018 More than 150 delegates from more than 110 Chinese companies, financial institutions and banks participated in the seminar on Indian solar sector. To gauge the business opportunities in the solar sector more than 110 Chinese companies attended a seminar in China. The seminar was also aimed at wooing Chinese manufacturers to invest in India. The seminar organised by the embassy of India in Beijing in association with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) was aimed at promoting Request for Selection Documents (RfS) project floated by SECI among prospective Chinese investors. More than 150 delegates from more than 110 Chinese companies, financial institutions and banks participated in the seminar. China New Energy Chamber of Commerce (CNECC) and China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) participated as co-organisers of the event, said a statement from Indian embassy Prashant Lokhande, Counsellor (Economic & Commerce) said that the RfS was an immediate opportunity for Chinese solar manufacturers to invest in India. Through RfS, a unique opportunity is offered to global solar companies for setting up 5 GW integrated manufacturing facility for manufacturing solar PV modules along with solar cells, silicon wafers and ingots, the statement said. Sanjay Sharma, General Manager of SECI gave a presentation about overall solar sector scenario of India, market size, opportunities and details about the RfS document. Shi Limin, Standing Deputy Secretary-General, CNECC and Jiang Hua, Director at CPIA appealed to the Chinese investors to grab this immediate opportunity in the solar sector and invest in India, the statement said.
