Govt Amends Bidding Norms To Ease Early Starting Of Wind Projects Nordic energy firm and an independent power producer that delves into the development, construction and maintenance of renewable energy, Ilmatar, has powered up its Palma Wind Park located in Somero, southern Finland. The project that boasts of 17.2 MW capacity was commissioned ahead of schedule as per the firm. The wind park has four 4.3 MW wind turbines made by Danish manufacturer Vestas. The blades of the turbine rotate at a height of 105 metres and a sweep height of 180 metres. “In Palma, we achieved completion ahead of schedule, just as we reported last week for the Jäkäläkangas Wind Park,” informed Petri Ainonen, Director of Construction, Ilmatar. He added, “These are practical examples of our expertise in developing and constructing renewable energy projects.” The construction of the Jäkäläkangas Wind Park, with 30 MW capacity, began last year in July. It boasts five 6 MW wind turbines from Vestas. Just a day before, the firm had announced the construction of 55 MW Knihult solar farm in Sweden. This project comes equipped with 20 MW battery energy storage facility.
