IESA to Host 2nd India Energy Storage Policy Forum By Anirudh Sharma/ Updated On Mon, Sep 17th, 2018 The IESA forum will focus on policy issues related to grid and off grid applications to support renewable development, energy storage for EVs and charging infrastructure as well as R&D and manufacturing ecosystem in India. India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) is to host the second edition of India’s Energy Storage Policy Forum on the eve of World Energy Storage Day which according to Global Energy Storage Alliance (GESA) is to be observed on 22nd September. The energy storage centered forum to be conducted at Delhi, would be joined by the Indian policy makers and to discuss policies and acknowledge its importance across the globe. Moreover, the forum will focus on policy issues related to grid and off grid applications to support renewable development, energy storage for EVs and charging infrastructure as well as R&D and manufacturing ecosystem in India. Further, V. K. Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog will be the keynote speaker of the forum. Significantly, IESA estimates that the market for energy storage would grow to over 300 GW during 2018-25. IESA estimates the market for energy storage would grow to over 300 GW during 2018-25 and India is expected to attract investment in 2-4 Giga factories for advanced Li-ion batteries, attracting over $3Billion in investments in next 3 years”.
