Iberdrola Begins Construction on 100MW Solar PV project in Mexico By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Thu, Apr 6th, 2017 Around 400,000 solar panels on a 300-ha (741 acres) land plot in Hermosillo municipality will be used for the construction of 100MW Solar PV project in Mexico. Iberdrola, Spanish energy group has started the construction of 100 MW Solar PV Project in the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora. The 100MW Solar PV project will be built in the municipality of Hermosillo with an estimated cost of US$135 million. There will be installation of about 400,000 solar panels on a 300-ha (741 acres) land plot in Hermosillo municipality. The generated power will be sold to the private customers under the new Wholesale Electricity Market. The installation of the solar PV modules that will be used for the project will take place in August, and the tests will be conducted in December.
