Hyderabad Metro Stations to Power with EV Charging Points By Manu Tayal/ Updated On Sat, May 19th, 2018 A contract had been signed with the Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) to promote EV charging stations at metro stations. In a move to go green and provide eco-friendly services, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) will soon be going to set-up electric vehicle (EV) charging points at the Metro stations. In a release LTMRHL said that, a contract had been signed with the Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) to promote EV charging stations at metro stations. “To start with, powergrid shall develop charging stations at Miyapur and Dr. B R Ambedkar Balanagar Metro Stations,” the release added, quoted PTI. Besides, powergrid shall subsequently develop EV charging stations across the entire metro corridors. Commenting on the development, LTMRHL, MD & CEO, KVB Reddy said quoted PTI that, “We are committed to provide best in class eco-friendly green Metro services to the citizens of Hyderabad and this is a step in that direction.” Further, Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is the world’s largest Public-Private Partnership Project (PPP) in the Metro sector. Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Network will cover a total distance of around 72 Km across three corridors i.e. Corridor-I from Miyapur to LB Nagar; Corridor-II from JBS to Falaknuma; and Corridor-III from Nagole to Shilparamam.
