March has brought big news for Ahmedabad based Hetvi Construction Ltd. The EPC firm has made a breakthrough with its large order win for a 125 MW solar plant in Assam. The direct order from Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) is a comprehensive EPC project with an estimated value of Rs 740.06 crores, to be completed within 18 months of the letter of award. Thus, unlike PPA projects, in this case the consortium will simply built and transfer the project to APDCL. Consortium partner Waaree Renewable technologies had announced the win last week. Hetvi won the project as the lead firm in a consortium with Waaree Renewable Technoligies Limited and Jayantipur Construction Private Limited. While this is the first large-scale solar EPC project, Hetvi Construction Ltd. has extensive experience in infrastructure projects, particularly in water supply schemes under Jal jeewan mission across multiple districts in India. the firm’s expansion into the renewable energy sector comes from a long-term focus on sustainability. The project, located in Karbi Anglong District, Assam will be one of the biggest solar projects in Assam, in one of its most backward districts. Hetvi Construction Ltd. will be responsible for the complete EPC execution, including design, engineering, procurement, erection, and commissioning. Land acquisition and connectivity requirements are managed in collaboration with its other stakeholders.
