Gujarat BESS was incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary and Special Purpose Vehicle in Rajasthan. It is yet to commence its business operations. BESS Project Gujarat-based H.G. Infra has expanded into the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment with the incorporation of its new subsidiary, ‘H.G. Gujarat BESS Private Limited’. The H.G. Infra announced the incorporation of the subsidiary in a regulatory filing. It said, “This Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), H.G. Gujarat BESS Private Limited, has been incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) of H.G. Infra Engineering Limited, with an authorized capital of Rs. 15,00,000, divided into 1,50,000 equity shares of Rs. 10 each, and a subscribed capital of Rs. 15,00,000, divided into 1,50,000 equity shares of Rs. 10 each.” The company further explained the role of the subsidiary, stating, “The WOS will carry out business in the field of Battery Energy Storage Systems. Impact of acquisition: As it is a newly incorporated company, there is no impact on the parent company. H.G. Gujarat BESS Private Limited was incorporated on February 5, 2025, as a wholly owned subsidiary and Special Purpose Vehicle in the state of Rajasthan. It is yet to commence its business operations.” H.G. Infra Expands Into BESS H.G. Infra recently won a series of projects from REIA. Earlier this year, the company secured a BESS project from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), winning a 250 MW project at a tariff rate of Rs. 2.26 lakh/MW/month. This project is part of the 400 MW/800 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) tender (Phase IV). Last year, H.G. Infra Engineering received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. to build a 500 MW/1000 MWh standalone battery energy storage system in India. As part of this project, the company will manage a total of 185 MW/370 MWh, which it won at a tariff rate of ₹2,38,000 per MW per month.
