The Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) today issued a tender for a 500 MW wind power project, with an additional 500 MW green shoe option. The last date for the tender submission is August 14. The tender document said that the bidders can choose the locations anywhere in India. 

“The Projects shall be located at the locations chosen by the Bidders anywhere in India at its own discretion of cost, risk and responsibility. In case of Inter-State Projects and Projects connected through CTU Network, the all transmission charges and losses upto delivery point shall be to the account of the Successful Bidder,” the tender document read.

GUVNL said that the eligible bid capacity for bidding for Intra-State Projects will be minimum 10 MW and for Inter-State Projects will be minimum 50 MW. “Under this RfS, it is proposed to promote only commercially established and operational technologies to minimize the technology risk and to achieve timely commissioning of the Projects. The Bidder may indicate regarding the selection of technology and its details at the time of submission of bids in the prescribed Format,” the tender said.

The tender also said that the annual declared Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of these projects should not be below 22 percent. “The Successful Bidder shall declare the annual CUF of their Project at the time of signing of PPA and the same will be allowed to be REVISED once within first three years of CSD. The declared annual CUF shall in no case be less than 22%. The Successful Bidders shall have to maintain generation so as to achieve annual CUF within + 20% and -20% of the declared CUF during the PPA duration of 25 years,” the tender document read. 

GUVNL MD said that GUVNL aims to tie up 10 GW of renewable energy in the year 2024-25. “By expanding our wind power capacity, we aim to maintain our leadership in wind generation and contribute significantly to India’s renewable energy goals and ensure a cleaner, greener tomorrow for all.
